Challenging Myths to Reveal a New Geography of Crisis for Global Action.

Mission & Role

Mission & Role

Integrated Campaign Management; Policy Advocacy & Influence; Data Visualization & Reporting

The Emergency Watchlist is the IRC's flagship annual product, driving both internal emergency planning and external policy action. The 2024 campaign was strategically focused on exposing "the myths that inhibit an adequate response to crisis" to reveal a new geography of global need, with thematic analysis focusing on conflict trends, including the focus on Africa in the top 10 listed countries. My role involved leading the integrated creative production across the report, website, video, and data visualization to ensure the final product was compelling, substantive, and visually appealing to key policy targets, journalists, and high-value donors. The project successfully raised the IRC’s profile and supported critical fundraising by visually detailing the urgent crises in countries like Sudan, which topped the list.

We delivered a comprehensive product and launch campaign that successfully positioned the IRC as a thought leader in the foreign policy space by providing substantive, analytical data that was visually compelling. We achieved the primary objective of raising the IRC’s Policy and Public Profile by clearly displaying the countries (Sudan, occupied Palestinian territory, South Sudan) most at risk of deterioration, and supporting fundraising by including tactics on the website.
